This is correct, it's acrylic. It's called contact juggling. He's very talented at it, I'm just surprised that nobody on digg seems to know s**t about it.

Anyone notice toward the end he did a couple things that looked like drunken boxing? You could probably mix the two into a pretty awesome performance.
