verizon-minutes-used.blogspot.com — Author states that the "the reason it disappeared from Mozilla's site is because Verizon complained about the extension and we are trying to sort it out." Verizon essentially doesn't want it "too" easy for customers to check their minutes as it could pre-warn users with "yellow" color code that have only 60 minutes left on monthly plan

Verizon also wants to charge more for websites using bandwidth...

I hate it when a company tries to keep making money! What is this? Greed in capitalism?!?!! Why, I never!I love how everyone majorly dugg down the one guy smart enough to realize why there are pre-paid plans.

I tried to let everyone know about this extension months ago but no one dugg it at the time apparently.http://digg.com/software/One_of_the_most_useful_Firefox_extensions._Verizon_Minutes_Used.

Cell phone companies are dirty dirty.Always have been.Hang up the phone and get a life.

useful extention. I think the default should be check every 30 mins instead of every 5 mins. Most people wont change the interval and it will generate mostly unneeded traffic

Why should this surprise people? The makers of cell phones deliberately leave out features users want. For example, why can't you have a different ring tone for a non-caller-ID call? Why can't you block ANI-disabled numbers from your cell phone? http://bsalert.com/

Unfortunately I'm cheaper than the phone..The company gives me the phone for free, so not going to spring the extra $40 to get my own phone and carry two devices.

Problem is, that guy is apparently afraid to post a link to an incredibly small file on his own server, so he does it with bigupload.com instead. bigupload.com trashed his file, and now it's basically unavailable. Anyone know where to get his addon?

I use this extension and I have to say its a real big help with keeping up with my minutes. Now only if they could come up with a power bill extension I could keep up with that with ease as well.

Some rep from Verizon actually called me and told me to stop using the plugin or they would disable my online access to my account, citing that it's a breach of their terms and conditions. Granted, I have the minutes used plugin on 3 computers that I use regularly, but good grief they're pathetic. The rep was going through a list of customers to call about this. I tried to get them to define what they called "software" used to access an account. They said anything that stores your password. I pointed out that autofill stores your password and they said that that's against their TOC too! You've got to be kidding me...

Anth741 (and interested peoples).. I'm not sure why, but the author lists an outdated version on the main page which is what you linked. If you click on the "Verizon Minutes Used Extension" link on the left, that takes you to the most recent version .94. Here's the direct link --http://www.freewebs.com/winstonhuang/download/verizon_minutes_used-0.94-fx.xpi

I swear, when I get about in the 50 minutes range left for my plan, Verizon's site claims "My Account Temporarily Unavailable" It has happened to me twice, both when I was just under 50 minutes left for my plan.
