boygeniusreport.com — There’s a couple hardware modifications and one big one is that the buttons below the trackball are, as we’re told, not physical, but touch-sensitive buttons. Look for it to drop in November on Big Red.

I'm still holding out for this:<a class="user" href="http://www.electronista.com/articles/09/10/01/moto.droid.gets.photos.launch.details/" rel="nofollow">http://www.electronista.com/articles/09/10/01/moto ...</a>

Was thinking of trying out the Hero to decide if I wanted to switch from Pre to Hero but the processor is to damn weak and I heard even with the latest Android updates it is still running pretty damn slow. Love my Pre but I like to play around with other phones as well...just need to wait for a decent Android phone not an over-hyped one.

This is bad for Palm, they should have gone to Verizon first to grab up all the people waiting for a great smart phone on that network.

Also, I have full access to the BlackBerry marketplace through my Verizon subsidized BlackBerry device so I don't see why they would specifically target Android. There's also a much smaller Verizon marketplace with a bunch of overpriced Verizon games/applications.

It's not the HTC Hero, it's the Motorola Droid<a class="user" href="http://www.motorola-droid.org/index.php?topic=36.0" rel="nofollow">http://www.motorola-droid.org/index.php?topic=36.0</a>

Although Verizon does not have as friendly a plan as Sprint, they do offer better benefits. Data is limited, but you get 10 circle, and unlimited roaming. These features are very beneficial to travelers. I look forward to using the HTC Hero on the Verizon network, even though I have to pay $80 per month between my wife and I to use it.

As a US Sprint customer, my options have been mostly limited to WinMobile, Blackberry, and Palm. Not interested in blackberry ... although i currently own a Palm Centro ... although it is a reasably good phone, i have not been suitably impressed with the OS or freeware apps . Yes i said it FREEWARE. There ... WinMobile had the market cornered! My mogul was a wonderful little computer ... despite the frequent need for soft resets ... but a really cruddy phone. When i read about Android i got all excited ... but ... alas no phones on the Sprint network.Enter the HERO ... My heart is all a twitter and anxiously awaiting Oct 11 ... hoping to learn all i can about android before then ... so i can get my little hands dirty!!
