engadget.com — AT&T might be suing Verizon for misrepresenting its network in ads, but that doesn't seem to have dissuaded Beg Red from using that same map image in this new spot, which casts the iPhone away to the Island of Misfit Toys.

I dunno.. the iPhone is a great device, I wouldn't debate that.. but it's honestly getting a little played out. I'm glad to see there are finally a couple of really solid competitors out there to make things interesting again.

But AT&T is doing a lot to improve it. My hometown in Kentucky got AT&T 3G a few weeks ago and it has about 20,000 people. Hardly a major metropolitan area.

I agree that verizon's phones suck. However they did just release the HTC Droid Eris(better than the Moto Droid) and its really good. Verizon may have better national 3G coverage but I live in the San Francisco bay area and judging by the coverage maps in verizon's commercial they are about the same coverage here but verizon is not nearly as fast as AT&T. I don't currently have data but if i got an android phone i would want it and be required to get data. As much as I want an android phone I am not willing to downgrade to verizon. And it would be a downgrade: slower data in my area, CDMA network instead of GSM and it does not use SIM cards.@AT&T: Please release an android phone, preferably an HTC one.

@motivatedguy: so I'm curious, how much is it acceptable for Verizon to charge for people breaking a contract that subsidized the phone purchase?

just to be picky, unless the phones are identical your comparison is tainted. Of course, proximity to the hudson has the same effect.

actually, they're ripping on the iPhone's association with AT&T. I think at the beginning of the commercial they actual say something like "hey, you're a great phone, what are you doing here?" The answer to which is, "oh yeah, your network blows goats".

Think about it folks. iPhone is the perfect product for AT&T. Not only did the iPhone revolutionize mobile phones with audio and video but those features completely make you forget the fact that you aren't getting a signal.
