se7enpc.com — When I read the original article many posted about sending a complaint to Verizon. I did just that and this is the response I got back from them. This is their side of the story and is interesting.Original:http://digg.com/technology/Verizon:_We_re_Ending_Google_s_Free_Lunch_

Gee, why does Verizon and AT&T keep fighting for their monopoly to keep other responsible providers out if they want to say where I can and can't go. It seems they want paid on both ends. Well if I can't get to Google, I have no need of the service that won't let me get there. All these greedy motherf**kers. The good thing is that something always comes to replace a vacuum and If Verizon and AT&T continue in their death wish like the record companies other will offer the service I want.

If you read the whole thing and the transcript of Tauke, you realize Verizon rocks. Please tell me who else is burning midnight oil to get FIBER to the HOME (unlike at&t who wants to stick with twisted pair copper FOREVER)? Out here in California, the fiber goes into the home NOT to some community center - their going the full last mile with fiber. And no, I don't work for Verizon but their stock looks real cheap:)

Do this mean Verizon will pay us for the streets we paid for they drive on?How about their "free lunch" on the right of way granted to them on all those poles and wiring?Does this mean they'll pay back the taxes that they presumably deducted for expenditures on building the network? P.S. - how much of our utility bill was for that construction - do we get our money back if we don't want anything to do with Verizon? Technically, WE paid for that so it's really ours. So, they'll refund us for the time we're NOT using their network? They are opening a pandora's box they don't want to. TRying asking them about paying us back ...

Running a whois on http://se7enpc.com/ comes back as belonging to Jeremy Boysen, for a company called Se7en Media. That name doesn't return anything on Google except for a bunch of Japanese sites that apparently use the same name. The whois also returned an address of 3100 47th ST, Des Moines, IA; Google Maps shows that address as being in a distinctly residential neighborhood. Then there's the fact that the website, se7enpc.com, seems to consist entirely of two pages, the bit linked here and then a transcript of a Verizon Media Relations Conference Call, featuring Tom Tauke, Senior Vice President for Public Policy and External Affairs at Verizon Communications, which seems to be some sort of internal Verizon document. I can't say for certain that this is some sort of Verizon sponsored spam but it certainly smells fishy. I'm voting spam, no digg. /remove tinfoil hat

digg has an intense hate for many companies. Where do we find the time and energy?google = evilmicrosoft = evilsony = evilverizon = evilapple = could go either wayI for one don't like apple but I know I don't speak for most of digg which seems to get all hot and bothered by any given apple product. I think most of us like nintendo, am I right? am I?I am an Apple Hater for many reasons.

Consider Verizon Wireless’ Broadband Access, typically used for laptop access. It does allow Internet web surfing, to be sure. But its service contract has some rather onerous terms, including this humdinger:...Unlimited NationalAccess/BroadbandAccess cannot be used (1) for uploading, downloading or streaming of movies, music or games, (2) with server devices or with host computer applications, including, without limitation, Web camera posts or broadcasts, automatic data feeds, telemetry applications, automated functions or any other machine-to-machine applications [Ed: peer-to-peer (P2P)], (3) as a substitute or backup for private lines [Ed: Voice-over-IP (VoIP)] or dedicated data connection...http://www.letstalk.com/carriernotes/verizon/verizon_na_disclaimer.htm

"For the record Verizon is not offering 'fiber to the home' they are offering 'fiber to the curb'"No, they really are offering fiber to the home. Just google "Fios install", there's a number of blogs documenting the install with pics of the fiber connected to the termination box outside their house.
