engadget.com — The spot, which launched tonight and can be view in its entirety after the break, is a 30 second clip that begins by mocking Apple's cutesy music and iconic font typically seen in iPhone plugs. It reels off a number of things that the iPhone can't do...

"It's not an Android commercial though," Sure, but as you can see I was replying to "Android <3" statement.

Virtual keyboard does not equal real keyboard. Where's the tactile feedback? Where are the keys? If you say they're the same thing, would you be willing to install a touch screen on your computer and use only the on-screen keyboard instead of a real keyboard?

if you think Apple has little or no input on their marketing look and feel, you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Apple retains extremely strict control of every facet of their sales and marketing.

So you're saying that when the new iPhone comes it will sell better then the old one?

"all Verizon does is use Apple's successful campaign against them. why even bother mentioning the iPhone at all, if their new product was so great?"@enantiodromia - Because so many people have it etched in their heads now that the iPhone is the best phone you could ever buy. Not many people pay all that much attention to anything else out there. Despite T-Mobile doing a pretty good job of advertising the G1 and MyTouch, I still have people ask me if my G1 is an iPhone and once I say no they become uninterested in it. So this ad campaign only makes sense if this is the common reaction people give to non iPhones. This is what we can do that the iPhone can't. Personally I'm a little jealous since one of my biggest gripes about the G1 is the piss poor camera quality in low light.

@ mabsark, RE: " .. Despite what some idiots think, iPhones are not that common or that good. Nokia kicks its arse in every department, in fact, all the real phone makers do. Most people claiming that the iPhone is the best thing since sliced bread are probably Americans."I am Australian, and in the space of 6 months our group of 60 consultants and software developers have ditched their nokia and winmob phones. We now have about 70% of our staff now using iPhones, and (just to check your statement), after asking them, in EVERY case they have said it's the best damn phone they have ever had.

In comparing features with the iPhone, does it really matter whether it's a software or hardware feature? It's not like I can get another phone with the iPhone OS.

It remains to be seen if the Macbook Wheel will catch on in the business world where people do actual work and not just dicking around.
