arstechnica.com — In a huge win for both medical imaging and BitTorrent porn, 20Mbps symmetrical connections are now available over Verizon's fiber optic FiOS network. The new $64.95 service may put additional heat on cable companies to offer faster upload speeds.

There's that whole problem that Verizon doesn't serve Illinois. AT&T is the main telecom provider and thier fiber roleout is lame at best.

I'm pretty sure most servers in America don't run on crappy DSL connections. They shell out the $300 a month for T1 connections.

How many places not in Sweden can give service that kind of connection in reply? I bet not too many. Do you ever get 10 MB/s up/down or even 1MB with anything, or is it still pretty rare?

I hate c**ky people but you gtapro92 are an imbecile! I can see your life: Never left your somewhere in the Midwest hometown, brainwashed by mass media, and made 0 new friends since high school. Whoa, that was a little harsh reply now :)

Umm, guess what? It's NY, NJ, CT ONLY for now...!!Guess what?I'm in NY, HA, HA!But I'm not getting it because it's an extra $15.. not worth it to me..If it were a free upgrade, fine... because it's not.. 20/5 will do nicely.Let's see what happens next year. Cablevision (ny, nj ct metro) will have to respond...Only homes with multiple computer users really would take advantage of something like this on their home networks... 20/20 for ONE user is overkill, UNLESS you are already a bandwidth hog...This would be nice to see some competition come of it, if possible. Probably Cablevision will do 30/10 or 30/15 megabits as standard tier under docsis 2.0 specs. This will probably satisfy those already with Cablevision. All of you out in those non-competitive areas.. you're gonna have to 1-up the comcast lady who brought a hammer with her to the comcast office to get some customer service if you expect bandwidth upgrades. If anything comcast is trying to cut you off above the knees with your current 3 to 6 megabit crappy service with throttling/filtering.
