gearlive.com — To put it bluntly, Verizon has shown that they don?t care - at all - about protecting their users private, confidential information. Two random subscribers can see each others private details - address, phone numbers, credit card details, account info, etc. After multiple service requests, Verizon continues to ignore it. Identity theft anyone?

Not entirely on topic, but I had a pretty bad billing glitch that Cingular refused to fix. They really don't give a s**t. The billing algorithm was causing me to be billed for every minute I was entitled to, every minute I used, my total accumulated rollover minutes, and would double the balance due every 4 days and tack on a late fee. So for example, out of a 800 minute plan with 1,600 rollover minutes accumulated, lets say I used 400 minutes that month. They would bill me for 800 minutes (as if it was overage), plus 1,600 rollover minutes plus the 400 used, so a total of 2,800 minutes in overage. Now receive a new bill every 4 days that appears to be another month's bill with an due date of 30 days before I received the bill itself. Week after week of complaining and Cingular just telling me we should just pay the $12,000 final bill and be done with it, we ended up getting legal help. That was the only way were were able to get them to look at the error and correct it. People wonder why we switched to Verizon after 7 years of being with Cingular/Cellular One...

I believe it has been shown that even Christians believed in reincarnation until the church took out those passages when modifying the bible.

FACT: Verizon is a piece of s**t. As is AT&T and every other telecom company I know of. Have you EVER seen a benevolent telecom company? So why the surprise? Why aren't you doing anything about it?

>>and you are in the identity theft biz? from your post i assume you don't shred potentially important documented informationNo, I don't steal people's identities. I am in a related field though. As for the shredding, I do, but that has more to do with being concerned over someone learning the contents of the documents rather than the information in the header, like my name and address.>>But if no one can do anything with it, then why bother hiding it?Because I enjoy the fruits of internet anonymity. I don't need retards banging at my door at 3am because they're pissed off about losing an internet argument with me, but hey, I plan to move on February 20th, so this could prove to be interesting for a few weeks.Name: Jonathan AndersAddress: 235 W 102nd St Apt 15, NY, NYEmail: Anders.Johnny@gmail.comLast 4 digits of SSN: 8471Get to it

We need Corporate America to move the idiots of the world BACK to jobs they can handle, like the fry line at McDonald's! We consumers ALL TOO OFTEN accept crappy service AS IF IT'S THE NORM! Guess what? It's NOT, and to quote a famous movie: "We're mad as hell, and WE'RE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!"We consumers DEMAND that companies PROPERLY STAFF their Customer Service Departments, and PAY them ENOUGH, so they DON'T have to staff them with people whose intelligence is less than that of a CHIMP!You want my money? GIVE ME THE SERVICE I PAY FOR!

yeah, what's the problem that neither the customers nor Verizon would have used that option. I know conglomerates are different than local companies - but generally people want you to be as happy as possible to continue service - so they can afford to have a guy come out and fix it without charge...

awesome.

i agree, i can't imagine this can be figured out - OR, since both the customers are getting the right bills, just trade user names and passwords or commit to legal action already. Either figure it out or do something about it - don't just sit there and complain (after struggling to have them listen for two months you should move on to fixing it yourself or making them fix it with the avenues afforded by the company and/or the law). Or be American and get them to pay you to shut up - you know, the capitalist way of solving problems.

why in gods name would you RE-ORDER? if they sux, which they obviously do here, shouldn't you ...NOT RE-ORDER. Now I know why companies like this can be horrible to their customers - YOU LET THEM AND KEEP GOING BACK. Sux it up and live without it or a different, if slower, option. Or move. Or go to the local WiFi. Think outside your stupid consumerist box where you expect every one to treat you as the top dog, but keep paying them whether or not they give you good service.
