mlive.com — Verizon insists project place completely new poles. Local schools and governments want to run fiber to five rural Michigan communities. A debate has sprung up over the project's need to place completely new poles along streets, as Verizon won't allow the project to share space.

Heh, thats kinda funny. I work for one of the schools that is currently in doing this project. I think the way we are approaching this fiber optic project is just fine. My boss showed me how were setting it up, each set of cables in an individual sleeve thats about as round as a pinky finger. Our only other option would have been to go underground which would have been more money than the poles.

OK... you got me... I'm a Verizon schill...I suppose you are an liberal schill? I mean, look at your Digg history. If I was a Verizon schill would I have over 1,500 stories Dugg, of which only a minority have to do with Telecom? Please... What's next, going to accuse me of buying the account of a long standing Digger just so I can post schill stuff? What in this comment thread has me down as a Verizon schill? Give me a quote to defend.

Nah. There are no corporate massagers on the massively popular web sites. The popular sites are not dangerous because people can express their opinions without getting run past an "Editor".And congressmen didn't really edit Wikipedia either. Nothing to see here, move along. War is peace.

EVIL is such a strong word. Greedy, banal, incompetent, slow-moving, careless maybe ... but EVIL is overkill. They're just people takin' care of the Bottom Line.Sometimes rocks just roll downhill.

It looks like our residents are using VOIP to make phone calls and are using our fiber to get on the internet. I think what I'm trying to say is that your lines suck and I think it would be better if we went our separate ways. Not that it hasn't been fun but I think this will be better for both of us. And while you're at it. Why don't you take your poles with ya. They're kinda in the way of our poles. ThanksMichigan
