no, a pithy indictment of a lazy person with little imagination or creativity in their food choices. I'm a vegan and rarely eat salads-and I eat a much wider variety of flavorful foods as a "deprived" vegan than most meat-eaters. There's this little thing called Google. Best tool ever to find exciting, tasty, vegan food. It's not that hard to do it, lazy people.
You expect me to violate my ethics because you're coming over for a couple days? I don't think so. I would cook you plenty of great vegan food. People who "miss" meat so quickly are completely brainwashed that you need meat at every meal-you don't.Now, if cooking me something vegan would violate your ethics, I would not ask you to do it. But how could it? Besides, I know better. I know how to cook and bring a lot of great vegan dishes to share when I visit the holidays. I don't preach, I just bring wonderful food and let it do the talking. Vegans really need to make an effort to learn to cook-makes things so much easier for everybody. However, the meat-eaters who are acting all persecuted here need to get a grip. Our entire society is centered toward meat-eating. At many restaurants you cannot get anything vegetarian or vegan but a salad-talk about reinforcing a stereotype. I cook so many great foods at home, and I really wonder why restaurants wouldn't serve them. And it is really rude to knowingly invite a vegetarian over and not have something nice to serve them. Is it that much a hassle to make something? If you like them, it's worth it. If you don't like them, don't invite them over.
