youtube.com — When enough people stand up and demand it, we can beat the years of government apathy and neglect and see Canada go from being the only G8 country without a national housing strategy to a world leader in addressing homelessness.

Just so y'all know, this is a possible story for Vancouver, not a reality. The current city government is doing more than previous ones to address homelessness, but the provincial government has shown no kind of care or improvement in resources. The man with white hair in the video actually advocated for a law that would empower police to force the homeless off the streets, a strange move considering we're so close to hosting the 2010 Olympic Games. It's a sad sad truth that Vancouver is living the opposite of this video, but it's something that many of us still hope for even as we see 6 billion dollars in tax money going to fund the Olympics. After all what did you think all those people were cheering about? They walked past people sleeping in the street to get to the Olympic city announcement ceremony. Think about it, but give credit and support to Pivot for producing this inspired video.
