Yeah, it was one of the first "total conversion" Half-Life 2 mods back in the day. They've done a pitiful job of continuing promoting it, but it was played a LOT a few years back.
TF2 and almost every source game for that matter is a mod by every definition except that it was modified by the developers and charged for. Hell if you buy or install any game alone it still creates a HL2 directory and a HL2.exe file, and I'm pretty sure it runs the HL2.exe with an option to start TF2.Really that's more of a compliment to the incredibly strong easy to work with game engine they set up than anything. And if your argument is that mods have to be free and official games cost money, we have a problem with Garry's Notamod
