Thats a BS excuse from the VLC team for not having video acceleration work in windows on ati. DXVA works perfectly for my ati card in windows with MPC-HC and WMP, there is nothing "wrong with their drivers" that prevents hardware acceleration from working. [In windows]

DXVA didn't work for me (i5) on MPC-HC until a week ago. (Well, they could have fixed the problem as late as a month ago, that was my last version.)Great when it works, but I'll still be installing VLC as an insurance policy.

WMP is indeed complete trash and I hate the WMV format. But MPC saved us from it years ago.. much better than VLC too.
