Why do they want to work there if it is a "Bad Hotel"? No one is forcing them to work there, if they do not like it, they can quit and take their services elsewhere.
the issue at hand was affordable healthcare, not higher wages. just because someone has to work a s**tty job does not mean their family should suffer with no healthcare because they cannot afford it.
FYI I'm an RN and we're unionized. Sorry but if you're working the desk at a hotel, pushing luggage around, or working housekeeping you don't need a union and you shouldn't expect to be able to support a family on that kind of income. The fact that a 16 year old could do your job with a little training is a good indicator that maybe it's time to look for better opportunities. I'm not talking about UAW, but things like hotel, grocery, and department store workers. And could you be a little more condescending next time please?
