Does anyone think Cheney has any credibility left?

Its not a case of just removing Bush/Cheney. You must look at every law, every policy, every bill that has been passed and pull it back. America has been primed through Presedential Directives, military commission acts, the patriot act to allow authoritarian rule. Too many of the checks have been taken out."Last throes" was clearly a way to get the troops to stay a little longer. The longer they stay there the more people are likely to think, "well we've been there for so long - might as well finish it off." Occupation of Iraq was always intended to be a permanent thing. It now needs to be just to pay for the war and the military-industrial complex. Iraqi oil needs to continue to be owned and a significant military power retained in the area to secure the Caspian supply. Whenever troops leave its going to be a mess. Better to rip the band-aid off in one than to announce a depart date which will never be met, just like 'mission accomplished' and here with 'last throes'.Stop spending $500+ billion on defense, level off overseas debt to secure the dollar and wrench the band-aid. There one day - gone the next.
