thinkprogress.org — Yesterday on Fox?s Hannity and Colmes, conservative pundit Dick Morris said that the reason Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) isn?t supporting Rep. Jane Harman (D-CA) to be chairwoman of the Intelligence Committee is because she ?doesn?t want a female competition. She doesn?t want two aggressive Democratic women congressmen in California.?

Who's the conservative here? Dick Morris? He's a Democrat, worked for Bill Clinton, remember.

At least Conservatives put the first Black Female as Secretary of State and Colin Powell too. Where are the blacks (male or female) in the Democratic elite?

I don't think there's any chick-politics going on here...just regular politics: Harman has a history of defending the administration's illegal intelligence activities over the years (for one thing) : http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11272634/page/2/ I'm sure that's a big reason Pelosi skipped over her - she wanted someone more critical of Bush in the Intel Chair - which is where Hastings had come in.... and now, thankfully, out. I think they might be looking at Reyes. He's next in line. Relatively neutral.
