thinkprogress.org — Tomorrow, President Bush will deliver a prime-time address to the nation about progress in Iraq and announce he will withdraw 30,000 troops from Iraq by July 2008. But on May 1, Bush said, "Setting a deadline for withdrawal is setting a date for failure -- and that would be irresponsible."

Before the conservative 25-percenters jump in and say "hey, isn't a withdrawal what the liberals wanted!", I would like to add:1. It is not what the liberals want, it is what this country - 70+% of Americans want.2. When Americans asked a date for withdrawl, we were called as reinforcing the enemy propaganda. So when this administration does it, what is it called?“Premature and public discussion of the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq reinforces enemy propaganda that the United States will abandon its allies in Iraq.” [Undersecretary of Defense Eric Edelman, 7/16/07]
