Wow, seems like everyone hates junk like this... And I'm not different neither...How about a new open codec based on open standards? Otherwise just stfu willya.

After working in tech support for 4 years. I honestly believe there are not too many companies that produce worse junk than VIA. There chipsets are always a nightmare to support. I truly believe half of our common hardware issues were caused by faulty VIA software. If you get a bottom of the barrel motherboard, chances are VIA is the chipset.If you enjoy gaming, never buy VIA.
