@nailbunnyDoes Trillian really __need__ to work outside of Windows?Just as in not everything needs to be open source, not everything needs to work outside of the environment it was intended for.Portability described in the article is completely different from the portability you are describing. If you apply OS portability to the 'Portable Apps on a Thumbdrive' concept you still have to have separate executables for the same application on different OS's.

Heh, of course I know what a Zip Disk is, but the thought of anyone still using one, let alone running software off one seemed a little surprising. Sure, I could run uTorrent off a floppy, but who suggests that?

This is nice, take your Trillian with you when you go on the road. I've added this to my USB drive alongwith all my other portable apps (Firefox, FileZilla, pUTTY, WinAmp, etc).I find Trillian or GAIM excellent alternatives then having one client (bloated). For instance when you install AIM,you get more then what you bargained for. AOL stuffed a toolbar, and spyware (Wild Tangent) in with your AIMinstall.I recommend for those who just want AIM: http://aftermath.dyndns.org:8888/~aimadhack/Allows you to install AIM and remove all the crap during the install process, so you have a clean versionrunning on a PC.Myself, I rather use Trillian (Basic) ... really didn't like GAIM to much.

Trillian pro is nice but they need to speed up the login process.....hopefully the next version will be alot faster....I like that you can skin it however you want. Was using gaim beta but it's lacking on features and looks too washed out and I doubt the final verison won't be that much different.
