By the time companies and schools upgrade the machines are 8 years old so there's no financially reasonable way to upgrade just the machine. Most PC users tend to keep their system up to speed as they go along so they don't have to waste all that money every 3 years.
who cares if it's easy on the wallet, it's pretty much automatic. They're designed to fail just long enough down the line that a few new models are out to make it consumerific, and you can't spell that without CON
