kotaku.com— As of last night I have officially had nine Xbox 360s die on me, which means when I get this replacement, I will be on my eleventh Xbox 360 (counting debugs and retails).

What do you want? A XBox360 repairman to come around to every home of a 360 owner to personally swap out each defective motherboard? OTOH, an option to get your money back if you'd prefer to abandon your 360 would be appreciated.
They will *NEVER* have a great 360. You should go and buy one. With the new 3 year warrenty, by the time it runs out you'll be on to the next big thing. I'm on my fourth and quite frankly could not be happier with the system. It's a GREAT gaming platform and despite the ANNOYING problems, the games make it worth it.
Actually wagslaven I'm not even a gamer. My brother has 360, but I don't touch the thing, besides a little Halo 2 back in the day when he first got it.I just read about the industry a bit, and I make jokes, which apparently you do not find funny. Sorry.Oh. Breathing = advanced technology, just in case you didn't get it.
The redesigned mother board is only a start. It will not stop the chips from frying until they get the 65nm that run cooler, have the new GPU heat sink, and the newest DVD drive to prevent disc eating. It's at least the 8th drive from what I've read. MS has also switched the internal hard drives a few times as well. The 360 was rushed out to beat Sony and all it's done is hurt MS in the long run while Sony has a great game line up after only 9 months compared to the 1.5 years it took MS. PS2 was not a big hit at the start but I still bought one and it paid off. I bought my PS3 looking forward to good games and to enjoy blu-ray.My brother did not buy his 360 to look forward to nothing but FPS and errors. I play it more than him. Because we personally have not experienced the RRoD yet my biggest grip is that I can' transfer my saves over from our old xBox. That was the first thing to show me how little MS actually cares about the gamers.
My Elite died on me 3 weeks ago, just got it back. I was surprised to find that rather than fixing and returning my original, they actually swapped it out. I'm not clear on whether this is a refurb (ie: someone elses 360 that now has the cooling enhancements) or one off the production line.

You're right! He should get a life trolling digg posts in the gaming section and talking down about people who game just like you.

Obviously since this only happens to a select group of people non-stop, it's Karma, you guys were douchebags in a past life, GG!

Actually fixing a problem and patching it are 2 different things.
