Compiz is just a window manager. If it crashes - which it never has for me - nothing else does, and it just restarts the window manager like nothing happened - without losing any work or anything else.

The only people who get attacked are those who don't bother to put forth the slightest effort, barring stupid people calling others noobs for no reason. Never in 4 years of using Linux have I been called a noob.
