a lot of these are rubbish.some of them are fixes for bugs that only effect a few people (eg the disable ipv6, is a workaround for people with buggy routers)some of them sacrifice stability (eg changing disk format)you can do anything, tell someone its faster, and they think it 'feels' faster.it is easy to be tricked by disk caching. try this1) turn on the computer2) open open office3) close open office4) sing the national anthem5) open openoffice again (this time will be super fast)

I have the exact opposite experience. Edgy was slow and crashtacular, after a fresh install of feisty, it's blazingly fast.
