Pros: The design itself is sleek and clean. It's the kind of classy minimalist style I really enjoy.Cons: The charcoal color is too dark like others have said. And the orange color used for the date/time bar is too bright for the rest of the theme. If the designers are going for a darker look, might I suggest basing it on the blue elephant hide backdrop that made the rounds months ago? It has blues and blacks, yet doesn't look near as brooding as this.https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Incoming/Attic/Ani ...Once more official designs make the rounds, make sure to offer your input through the Ubuntu forums and stuff.
I did the original Blubuntu themes - do people still use Blubunu!? I haven't updated it for years, but will run an update this release if people are interested...
LCD definately... I've always used regular windex on CRT monitors and TV's though and never had a problem... those are just glass, after all... and Carburetor did say "crt" :)

It's not possible. It would require the window manager to have hooks into the application. Maybe someday but not at present.

Color scheme is just awful. Too dark, low contrast. Out!
