@ turezky: If you don't like what you find on gnome-looks.org then you could always make your own gtk themes, window themes, and icon themes to the exact colors that you want.Just find a gtk theme that you sort of like, then use that gtkrc as a template for creating a similar theme using your own colors and widget/button styles (I think the murrine gtk engine is the easiest to theme with and has the best looking buttons/widgets/menubars/toolbars). This is my latest:<a class="user" href="http://crimesaucer.deviantart.com/art/SilverBlackPurp-Thunar-141956577" rel="nofollow">http://crimesaucer.deviantart.com/art/SilverBlackP ...</a><a class="user" href="http://crimesaucer.deviantart.com/art/SilverBlackPurp-141956420" rel="nofollow">http://crimesaucer.deviantart.com/art/SilverBlackP ...</a><a class="user" href="http://crimesaucer.deviantart.com/art/SilverBlackPurp-MPD-ncmpcpp-141956838" rel="nofollow">http://crimesaucer.deviantart.com/art/SilverBlackP ...</a>For customizing icon packs (like Human/Humanity) you can modify each .svg file from the icon pack to use your own colors with Inkscape. Then transform all of the .svg images in those folders to .png images to complete the icon pack using this command in each folder (this is for 24x24 pixel, just change the -w and -h for different sizes like 32, 22, and 16):for i in *.svg; do inkscape -f "$i" -e "$i.png" -w24 -h24; doneYou can also mix a few icon packs together if you don't feel like making your own customizations with inkscape..... right now I'm using the navi buttons from Chromo-Erectus with the folders and other icons from Hydroxygen (previous version), you can see it in those screenshots above. Here are the download pages for both of those icon packs:<a class="user" href="http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Chromo-Erectus?content=101194" rel="nofollow">http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Chromo- ...</a><a class="user" href="http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/hydroxygen_iconset?content=88575" rel="nofollow">http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/hydroxy ...</a>Emerald window themes are the easiest to make. Just modify a theme when using the emerald theme manager or just create your own using v-runner or truglass. Xfwm4 themes are bit more difficult but are still pretty simple once you figure out how to write the .xpm files, and I haven't really messed with metacity themes other than downloading a theme and changing a few of the .png images or editing a few things in the file. (I don't really user gnome..... I prefer xfce4/xfwm4 because it's so fast and light) This is my gallery of my homemade gtk/window themes (murrine, clearlooks-glossy, xfce4, xfwm4, and emerald). I plan on sharing a few of the better ones, some are pretty old and ugly from when I first started: <a class="user" href="http://crimesaucer.deviantart.com/gallery/" rel="nofollow">http://crimesaucer.deviantart.com/gallery/</a>
I know how you feel. At first I was psyched when I read what empathy was and how the telepathy framework works... but the frontend is just STUPID. How come you can't even Alt + Tab between conversations, or choose to have an incoming IM open up a new window instead of blinking a stupid tray icon?I'd LOVE to dump Pidgin, and I'm 100% behind what the telepathy guys are trying to achieve, but the empathy UI is just primitive. Being it FOSS and all, couldn't they just use Pidgin's UI and behaviour and have it plug into libempathy? Why did they have to go and reinvent the freaking wheel? Empathy is something like 2 years old now and they still can't get these basic usability features working. I'm not impressed./rant
Bronze AAAAHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA Wine is s**t and so is its updates to the games and programs. After ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL this time its still not fixed to work properly in wine and he gets -14 for just asking a question and you get a +14 -1 from me, for pointing to a program that doesnt work properly. Stinking linux freetards
It says package not found because the entire repository is not loaded. If you go into Synaptic and press reload, it should reload the repositories. If it errors out, check your network connection and reset the sever in Settings -- Repositories. If you had previously told it to select the best server, set it back to Server for United States, then reload again. If you want to optimize the repository server, try using the "Select Best Server" several times and pick the one that comes up the most. It's best to try several times during the day. After you've picked one, try reloading to make sure it works well. I had selected one in Chicago and got errors when trying to reload.
To back up what I said about changing it, try setting your theme to New Wave and select customize to change the colors of Selected Items and Tool Tips to something you like. Then select any of the backgrounds that don't have your hated brown in them.

I couldn't understand a word of that. Try dislodging Steve Job's penis from your throat and give it another go.

I know you have no manners, but you really shouldn't talk about your mother's personal business in public like that.
