lists.ubuntu.com — In the next cycle we'll expand on the brand new infrastructure that has landed in Edgy as well as branching out in some exciting new directions. This combination of courage and restlessness is also found in a young deer that sets out to explore a world that is new and exciting - seeing the world through eyes unprejudiced by what has gone before.

Don't worry, the Linux crowd is fickle. As soon as Canonical is bought by Sun or they produce a paid-for version the community will move onto the Next Big Thing, just as they did with Red Hat, Mandrake, Fedora, and SuSE.People like the underdog. As soon as the underdog becomes an overdog attitudes change. I'd imagine early Windows adopters also felt the same way when comparing to OS/2 (underdog MS vs overdog IBM).

I'd like to know if any of the people who are digging me down would care to post their output of "sudo apt-get install clamav" in Dapper LTS server install.

I'm gonna go ahead and assume that the thousands of users - including myself - who have succesfully used all sorts of peripherals (the least of which being mice) represent the *average* Ubuntu user experience, and that you are just a complete n00b.
