"but I would rather play Soul Caliber on an old Dreamcast (even with its blocky graphics) than Fight Night on a 360"well I agree that Fight Night is not all that in the game play dept (I can button mash to victory like wild) but at the same time you are comparing 2 different games. Why not compare Fight Night on 360 with Fight Night on the first xbox? I think that would be much more honest dont you? And to get back to the graphics debate....graphics DO matter for ALOT of games. However do you honestly think that Soul Caliber would be the same experience if it was out for the PS1? I think its funny how you pick one of the most graphically impressive games for the DC for your graphics dont matter comparison lol....all that says to me is that ...yes graphics do matter. Its like I said before.....having great hardware just opens the doors to the developers. Of course game play is the most import thing....but at the same time good graphics are needed for games that immerse in a realistic environment. And for those game types the better the graphics, the better the experience... period. Not every game is stylized like Mario/Zelda/Metroid . And while I LOVE those games, I also want games that are realistic.I dont see what all the debate is about....we are lucky enough that we can have both (graphics and gameplay)...so why not expect BOTH?

because the ps3 booth was smaller, with an unfished system, and a lack games, while the 360 has been out for a long time. The only thing worth seeing left was the wii. besides, when do video game obsessed people who go to e3 represent all of the gamers... never.

I think that "Mary Smith" realtime PS3 video with the creepy looking chick crying creepy metallic tears demonstrates that consoles are already capable of ALMOST portraying realistic humans. What's really lacking (and causes more realistic attempts at humans to appear creepy and zombie-like) is the motion capture, which is something that needs to be fixed on the production side, not on the console itself. We are going to have better and better unintentional simulations of stroke victims on one side, and more and more articulate and humanized cartoon characters on the other. I'll take the cartoon characters. But when they get past that last motion capture hurdle so that the eyes and mouth look human, all consoles will benefit, not just whichever one is most powerful.

Thank you, finally! Se1zure I have stated that to people tons of times! Mario will always be there to the end, like the 360 with gears of war or PS3 with Heavenly Sword they can create and end games easily. The Wii however , due to weak hardware cant doing anything but create those "unique" game and thats it. Unique games, they can't expand! If they end mario thats it they'll be in last place. What REAL games did u see at their convention that were new and could expand into being better into the years to come , dont say mario cuz mario has expanded so much ( ten bucks super smash is going to be on DS ) that its eventually going to die away slowly just like the wii will. those "tennis" and "music" games arent the yipidy hoo ha games hat u spent 170-250 on a console for ( very good with the price though, at least they're not taking advantage like sony ) Zelda will probly be the expanding game into the years to come, i mean there were games like RE5 n stuff and COD3 but that brings you right back to the hardware. With its its bity hardware how far can they go to make an impact on difference from the others.Thank You
