r-force.org— It seems that Ubisoft is now banning people from their forums, just because they boycott Starforce. Everybody should boycott starforce!

I will not buy any product infected with Starforce. I will not even download it if it is available for free. It's just not worth the hassle when Starforce does work properly and problems when it doesn't.Starforce has been documented to ruin systems, in some cases requiring a complete reinstall. In some cases, the problems Starforce has caused have been obscure and difficult to diagnose. Suddenly, some hardware or software you have doesn't work anymore and you don't know why.Ubisoft is trying to cover up this fact to avoid a lawsuit, or at the very least, avoid dealing with the tech support issues. Do not forget that Starforce refused to even provide an uninstaller until the complaints grew too great.Who do you complain to when Starforce prevents your drive from working, or completely crashes your system? There is no protection or warranty, Starforce is malware and not a viable solution for copy protection.
It has side effects, some intended, some unintended. It installs a filter driver on your optical drive. That means that once you run a Starforce game on your machine, all accesses to your optical drive go through Starforce, no matter which application is making the accesses. It stays this way until you uninstall Starforce. And now that that code is in the way, it not only intentionally causes some accesses to act differently (by definition improperly) on purpose, but it also has bugs that make it unintentionally make some accesses act wrongly too.In my opinion, a program should not affect operation of my machine when it isn't running. Starforce-infested programs violate this guideline. And that's why I don't buy them.
hell, i got banned for bringing up the issue (creating forum topics, posting links to other sites that show starforce voulnerabilities including ring 1 access that was disabled in a xp update because of all the viruses) and for that, i was banned.
I Hate Ubisoft. After buying a game here in the UK (which you Can't take back after opening!)You get it home only to realise it Won't install as you have DVD burning software on your PC Which was pre-installed on the PC.This is the second game I have which has done this "Sims 2" and "The Settlers 5 HOK"So I have games which I bought but can't use! I won't buy anymore UbiSoft but may download full versions as they will play with No-CD key. LOL it is actually more beneficial to download a hacked game than buy an Original, ridiculous

Why would you expect a company you're boycotting to let you stay on their forums?

Because it's a one liner with no evidence to back it up. It's the same thing that's wrong with this "article".

Hello NarI found your comments to be outstanding. From explaining the Starforce issue to how companies respond to customers. Thank you. There is a post, out of many, on gamespot that I wish you would copy and paste your above comments in to. <a class="user" href="http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=24330650&page=0">http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=24330650&page=0</a>This is in regards to asking gamespot to warn users about Starforce and it's potential dangers.
