gadling.com — Mytchell Mora, a U.S. citizen, has been to Cuba four times in the last tens years and hasn't managed to get in any trouble - despite his best efforts. Mora actually wants to get arrested for violating the United States' ban on travel to Cuba as a way of protesting a policy he thinks discriminates against non-Cuban Americans.

Choosing to refuse to enforce laws so that troublesome citizens won't have a basis to legally challenge those laws. What a stroke of genius. The craftiness and intelligence of the US government blows my mind. When do they start to use this policy for possession of pot?

You can take a flight from Mexico if you are really dying to go... Most airport staff are willing to turn a blind eye.

It's not as if Cuba poses any actual threat anymore. It's actually really ridiculous that we can't 'legally' travel directly to Cuba considering it's less than 100 miles off the Florida Coast. I actually find this guy's story somewhat refreshing, it's nice to have people who see through the letter of the law to the intent. This man had no ill intent, he wasn't trying to do anything that would hurt anyone nor smuggle anyone/thing either direction, so they looked the other way. It may be horrible to the Homeland Security People, but I actually find it somewhat refreshing.
