Not sure the present administration understands the international community at all, and surely does not understand what "allies" means.
Closed AccountJun 28, 2010
Obama clearly doesn't understand "the international community" at all, right?
I mean, Obama was only raised in Indonesia, was the son of a Kenyan man, had an Indonesian step-father, and was making speeches about international law when he was in college. What could he POSSIBLY know about the "international community"?
Bush was clearly the expert there, having been raised in Connecticut and Massachusetts and then adopting a fake Texan accept to trick dumbasses into voting for him. Surely he knew volumes more about the world.

You forgot the born in Kenya part.

Exactly. Israel deserves no more aid from us. They deserve nothing more than the US finally pushing nuclear non-proliferation and the crimes they have committed against the Palestinians with the UN.
Israel is a parasite on the United States. They have not done a single thing that has benefited us in the slightest. They are the one assh**e that we're still friends with, while everyone asks, why do you even like that guy?

Indonesia also makes a lot of Intel CPUs. Should we also let them set up an apartheid state and give the billions of dollars every year?
Closed AccountJun 28, 2010
I said they develop them, as in they engineer the chips.
orlandogeekJun 29, 2010
We're imbeciles? Intel is a private company. CPUs are developed and engineered using their own money. They are not part of the Israeli government that takes US military hardware & tax dollars as funding and uses it to terrorize and subjugate the Palestinians.
w1cked1Jun 28, 2010
Because they do your dirty work, like selling weapons to your ennemies that originated from you so that you can fake a foe to fight. They come off like the assh**es and team america sits back looking like the good guys raking in all the money saying "we just wish they all got along"Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Refreshing the page watching the diggs/buries on the comments shows the pro-israel bury parade frantically trying to put out a fire.

There is no reason why the Palestinians, Jews and Christians cant live in complete 100% peace and equality in the holy land. The Abrahamic religions allow for this, No where does it say in any of these 3 religions to kill the other because of faith. We put a man on the moon decades ago, com'on. Have some faith in humanity.
stillhateyouJun 28, 2010
"There is no reason why the Palestinians, Jews and Christians cant live in complete 100% peace and equality in the holy land."
What you mean is that there's no *rational* reason that Palestinians, Jews, and Christians can't live in peace together. There is, however, an irrational reason, that being a combination of the fact that some identify as Palestinians, some as Jews, and some as Christians and the fact that people are dumb tribalistic pigs.
"Have some faith in humanity."
I used to have faith in humanity to be basically decent, but that faith was long ago violated.

This rift is so bad that we're sending them $30 billion in military aid between 2008 and 2017.
If that's not a sign of a tarnished relationship, then I don't know what is.

About time the Israeli tail stopped wagging the US dog. The question Americans have to ask themselves is; are you willing to go up to nuclear war for Israel? We all know the Jewish state is going to go nuclear very quickly once they start losing the next war. If the US drops nuclear weapons on Muslim states, how long until an Islamic bomb detonates in the US? With the current leadership in Israel, war seems to be the only way out for the oppressed Palestinians. Now that Turkey has stepped up to the plate, and with an intractable right-wing orthodox government in charge of the Jewish state, I'm betting mushrooms within 2 years in the middle-east.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

"We all know the Jewish state is going to go nuclear very quickly once they start losing the next war."
You're kind of a dumbass aren't you? How can you use nukes on someone who, in many cases, is only 5 miles away from you? Use your f**king head.
How long have you been parrroting this "Oh, they're going to attack Iran any day now" bulls**t? Where is this attack? Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

f**k em. exactly what do we gain by being Israels ally anyway? Guaranteed billions of dollars per year that we can't spend on our own country?

I think Israel's comments are rhetoric and U.S. critiques of Israel ultimately benefit both countries when done well by the U.S. But I've never read a longer list of hate without intelligent comments on Digg. Very disappointing.

The only "Critique" from any US official source I've seen simply states that the Gaza blockade is not sustainable. What a beating from the US officials. American public schools spend very little time on Israel, it's formation, it's inherent conflicts within the region and potential as a flash point for larger conflicts. When people learn about the more troubling elements involved in sustaining Israel, Zionism and the huge aid packages without any referendum voting, then they get resentful or hateful of Israel. Being forced to automatically subsidize Israel in perpetuity doesn't sit well with many people despite the initial justifications. The constant scream of "Anti-Semites" is supremely annoying when people speak their minds about Israeli policies. Certainly there are some good things about US-Israeli relations, but lets be honest about the bad as well.

Now I don't have anything against 'Jewish Americans' - I don't think of them any different as 'Catholic Americans', 'Muslim Americans' or 'Whateversuperstition Americans' - but the point is - the term 'Jewish Americans' is always used as 'Pro-Israeli Americans'.
And THAT is something 'anti-semitism' stems from - the 'divided loyality' of 'Pro-Israeli Americans' that is - a problem that is NOT with the observer (the 'anti-semite) but with the 'observed', the semite as to say.
Now, we STILL live in an era of national ideas, ideology - the NATION is still the basic means of administrating the diverse populations all over the planet - some 'nationalism' is still necessary to 'run' us, a necessary evil one could say.
This 'unpatriotic' divide is a problem - for the national unity of the USA while at the same time supporting a much more 'extreme version' of nationalism - Israel above all in this case.
The USA is a union - the old European nations are already more or less a union too and will become one with some luck. China is more or less a 'union', Russia always was - even if both of them are much more centralized the amount of different 'people' is astonishing. Africa and the Arabian nations are forming 'leages', 'trade unions' et al - which might result in 'real' unions, hopefully.
Now think about it for a second - imagine all 'nations' in the Arab paninsula decide to form a 'union' - imagine Israel being one of its states - do you think it could ever happen? And WHY shouldn't it be possible to happen? Who stands 'in the way'?
Uniting is one of the bigger feats of mankind - it's a kind of progress... so what does this mean for "Israel"?

If s**t goes down, I would want Israel on my side.

I find this fricken hilarious. The US needs Israel like it needs prostrate cancer.

Israel is currently an essential ally to have in the Middle East, especially with the brewing political tensions (particularly Iran).

All the common sense comments on this thread have aobut 30 minus ratings, and the anti-Israeli, pro Obama, progressive clueless rants have high ratings. This is a sign of the times, of a world drifting away from common sense and rationality, and sinking into adoration and love for the Dear Leader Obama.

Thank God. Israelis always overplay their hand. They have also fallen out with Turkey. Turkey is pushing the whorish Egyptian regime to stop selling out the people in Gaza. On top of that, they botched operations in Dubai and elected a night club bouncer as their foreign minister.
