I still keep my money as cash, I just pull it out of the ATM or go to a teller and ask for it. I rarely pay for a purchase with my debit card.Really. This is not a big deal.

From what I've learned in life, doing things electronically seems to cost more money and you get charged more for those services.

No, Carlosos, you took my statement, figured out a way to imply I was wrong. Here it is at face value, if you make direct deposit mandatory you will see people open accounts at banks. Banks will not charge them 5-35% of the check value to cash the checks, thus leaving more money in the hands of the recipients. Will it stop dumb people from being dumb? No, but it will remove a major cause of the problems.Right now, too many people use these rapacious services, and direct deposit will eliminate the damage it causes.
