lpcprof.typepad.com — A novel advertising campaign underway in the United Kingdom reads "There's probably no God. Now, stop worrying and enjoy your life." Residents will see it on the sides of buses, and perhaps, based on the amount of funding rolling in, ...

Then you utterly believe in the possibility that every fantasy produced by man, all of them, in every written work, in the minds of all mankind throughout history and prehistory, and yet to come, are all as possible as God.I assert that jello is the lifeblood of the 47th universe of dimensional junction 5643.23. Therefore, you should spread the word to everyone you know, for there is as much evidence for that as there is for God.I assert that cosmic strings smell like lilacs covered in depression. Must be likely, eh?I assert that Freudian slips look wonderful when worn by ghosts. You should go find some ghosts, and see if they're wearing any. Must be likely, eh?As for the latter assertion, that is simply preposterous. The Big Bang must have been created? Why? What is the basis for this assertion besides wishful thinking? Before we knew anything but our own frame of space, we were more ignorant than we currently are. Eventually, when we truly looked up, we perceived that our planet is part of a solar system. That solar system exists in a galaxy. That galaxy exists within a galactic cluster. That cluster exists within a universe. When we looked down, we perceived that we are made of cells. Our cells are made of atoms. Atoms are made of subatomic particles. Every time we've looked beyond what we currently understand to fit the evidence of reality, we see systems within systems within systems. By simple extrapolation, therefore, it is far, far more likely that our universe is in turn part of a bigger system, which is part of a still bigger system, and so on. To suddenly say that, "here, right here, all this correlation ceases and an almighty being beyond all time and space simply had to create it" is simply astounding, and jumping to an unfounded, unsupported conclusion. Even logically speaking, God is very unlikely. If God can create, God exists. If God exists, God is a part of reality. If God created reality...paradox. The very existence of an omnipotent, omniscient being absolutely requires a fundamental paradox to exist.

I agree with you Disgod, entirely. As a leader it is important to always remember that you represent more than 1 faith (or none), and policies should always maintain a separation of church and state - and I say this as a christian myself. This is why I am pro-choice...whether or not it is your own belief whether abortion is wrong, there is no need to force that opinion on those who don't.

So much I can say here. Why doesn't religion leave us alone? Why are so many people killed over religion? Why are so many people duped out of their money over religion by unscrupulous charlatans? Religion sure is the oil that feeds all the disparate man-made scam engines out there. It's all about money and power, simple as that.

I prefer "Atheism is a religion like not collecting stamps is a hobby" myself.
