eff.org — You need to take the time to read the warrant available via PDF. Insanity. Someone's computer crashes and suspects it's a CS student's fault because he does things like "'jail breaks' cell phones" and he is sometimes seen with a "[computer with] a black screen with white font which he uses prompt commands on." Yikes.

Are you kidding? I know exactly what everyone here is talking about. None of it is funny.I might see it being funny if you were just barely now learning about this stuff... "oh! haha! CPUs contain cache memory and registers, so they come under 'anything that can store digital data, no matter how retarded and irrelevant'. Also, you can store heaps of data in a good router. I've got a WL500gP which has 8mb onboard flash and something like 16mb RAM, which can be upgraded to ridiculous amounts if you have a soldering iron and the ability to google and follow simple instructions.

Apparently most people in law enforcement are mystified by command line prompts. It seems that anything they don't understand should be made illegal since otherwise how would they be able to tell if you're breaking the law. Rather than adhere to Constitutional principles, laws should be made for the convenience of those in law enforcement!!!
