nasa.gov — Great picture of Atlantis & Endeavour together on the launchpads with the support tower retracted. STS-126 (Atlantis) is the last mission to Hubble, LON-400 (Endeavour) is a contingency rescue launch. This is the last time two shuttles will be on the launchpad at the same time.

No clue the launch pads were so close to the beach. *It must be funny to hear all the nerdy NASA scientist flex their biceps and say "the beach is that way" or "is the beach over there?".

Maverick, It wasnt shot from the helo doing the IMAX, we were in the NASA copter. I shot the stills. We shot Friday during STS-126 rollout and also Saturday morning. Friday we were in the air at dawn. Saturday we had to wait until 8:30. the video guy and I were bummed we wouldn't have the sunrise again. But were stoked to see the rainbow on our first pass. Bmayotte. It wasnt photoshopped. You can view yahoo ews photos and see AP photos from teh ground with the rainbow..Shot with 2 Canon 40D. One wi ha 70-2002.8 IS the other a 24-105 4.0 IS.
