Have you met any corporate Best Buy employees? I'm guessing you've dealt mainly with their retail sales associates. Not saying they are any better, but you don't really have much basis here.

Not exactly. There is a difference between using facebook and twitter to keep in touch with friends versus using it as a platform to keep an audience and this is coming from someone who hates social networking, but understands what these companies are looking for in this case.
