So the model here is that Twitter users follow username DellOutlet to, in essence, get spammed by Dell?My guess is that if someone is following DellOutlet, it's because they are already prepared to purchase a computer, but want to get updates about any sales or deals. The immediacy of Twitter may give them an added feeling that they are getting the jump on some limited "black friday" like deals. Before Twitter, these same people probably would have signed up at Dell Outlet for email notification of sales. It would be interesting to see how sales figures from email referrals have changed compared to twitter referrals.
