One of my favorite things to do is check trending topics to see what the "African American community" is up to. A recent one was, #thingsyourxtellyou or something and this guy goes, "She tell you she get pregnant but she not. GIRL you tryin' to get KILLED?" Fantastic stuff.
I guess there could be a number of explanations for it. Perhaps urban-dwellers are more prone to speak than listen. It may be fair to speculate that these demographics have already been sold on fractured, burst broadcast communication through the marketing strategy of chirp phones, as well. Maybe I am waaaay off, but the article is an interesting set of facts.
About the Asain population, they are more community based than ME ME ME. This is why myspace hasn't worked so well in Japan, and they have their own social site focused more on cliques. (citation?)
