umpire mistakes happen all the time, i think the reason instant replay doesn't exist is because people in baseball generally like the human element to officiating.. and in many cases if you are the better team then you can overcome things like this. but i do agree replay explicitly in the playoffs should be looked into because people get f**king pissed.
An ump not being sure if a 90 mph ball hit the loose fabric of a jersey is a little different than a ball falling 1 ft inside the 3rd base line.Granted, they *were* both wrong, but one, IMHO, is an understandable human error, and the other incompetence. But then, I'm a Twins fan, so that probably colors my view.Taking my Twins hat off, both the Tigers and Twins did more than the umps to lose their respective games.
in what way does Texiera not play the game "the way it's supposed to be played"? not only is he an incredible offensive player, he is the best defensive first baseman in the league.

I'm also a diehard Yankee fan and I was pissed because I didn't want the win to be tainted.

Yeah, vote me down. I was obviously so wrong, seeing as how the Twins dominated the Yankees.
