i cant see any true gamer falling for that. we know we need the latest hardware to play the latest games with all the setting's on high. ram ram + more ram. any gaming machine with less than a gig is no gaming machine. if your hardware is a little outdated lower your setting's to fit your system.
@dude3069Agreed sometimes setting the process high can cause problems. Personally I've never experienced any, and I get a small boost in performance, nothing to amazing, but definately a tip people should try imo. :)
aight after i did it, i cannot play music with any software (itunes, winamp, wm) and my itunes music store dont work and now i have to format. i dont reccomend it.
Ok, first of all.. what IDIOT network admin would give you ACCESS to the registry in the first place? 2nd On a WORK computer/ Company lan, isn't gaming something that will get you FIRED? (if you could install the game in the first place)I've applied the tweaks to my registry, quite frankly, there is nothing there that would cause me a need to reformat. QoS can be disabled from the network settings, so reg tweak isn't necessary. prefetch is value 3 by default on my system, so no change there, and all versions of windows store dlls for a short time after a program is unloaded, I cant remember the exact number of cycles, seconds, or minutes, but why tie up resources even for a single second when memory is the 1st highest factor in gaming? Video card is 2nd, and processor is 3rd. (trial/error and experience). I've actually run games very nicely rated for a 1.o ghz processor with 768 megs ram and a very nice Nvidia card (333mhz processor on the card and addl 128 mgs ddr@400 bus) I don't go chasing every new system as it comes on the market, to expensive, so it means mastering working with what I have until I feel I need to build a new system. I'll put my 12 yr old P3 up against any off the shelf P4 (1st version) in a benchmark, because I know it will out perform.
