ethicalhacker.net — How hard is it to really compromise a system? As an ethical hacking instructor, I get asked frequently. Simple answer - try hacking a lab system. There is real value in understanding what it really takes to defeat common security. This can't be duplicated from listening to industry experts or simply reading books. You must try it for yourself.

I don't quite understand why people are going off on how this will unleash a avalanche of script kiddie attacks. The tools have been available for some time with online "how to"'s If someone was so inclined Google will provide many "hacks in a can".I guess my point is if you are doing pen testing in house or for consulting Metasploit is nice. Whopix is handy too for a quick demo on a client's site.

Yea, I have to admit hacking is becoming more and more of a script kiddy thing, with their one button click/enter a few commands abilities.

"...I'm pretty familiar with DOS and windows, but never used linux or hacking tools,..."by saying linux and hacking tools in the same side of a congruity, you may have well caused yet another diatribe to start. LET THE DEFINERS COME FORTH!
