labnol.org — Cell phones like Google's Nexus One, iPhone, Nokia N8, HTC Droid, BlackBerry Storm and tablets like the iPad have a capacitive touch screen. That means the screen will only respond to touch commands from human fingers and not the stylus pen that may have come with your old PDA. Here is how to create your own stylus.

Um, not for nothin, but not too many years back touch screens relied on a little thing called a stylus for input (which was a lot more precision based than current "iphone era" phones we have now), and here's a little hint: ANYTHING THAT IS TANGIBLE WORKS AS A STYLUS.

Do draw with... like in the video? Finger painting is okay, but when it comes to drawing, it is nice to have other tools.

What applications would I ever need on my phone to be "precise"?You can't do photoshop, or anything.Your argument is not very valid. Fingers work perfectly for every app I have ever tried them with. Using a stylus just makes you look like more a pretentious douche than a person who doesn't use one.
