suicidegirls.com — Meet Angel Raich, a 41-year-old mother of two from Oakland, California. She is in such bad shape that she needs to smoke pot every couple of hours to ease her pain and encourage her to eat. Just because something is bad, addictive, makes you lazy, cancerous, makes you into a vegetable, etc... why does that mean it should be illegal? If it's so bad, noone will want to do it, right? And those that do should be fully aware of the consequences, right? FYI: Making anything illegal doesn't make it go away, it drives it underground. If something is dangerous on the free market, how dangerous do you think it will be on the black market?Millions of people around the world smoke it without problems (other than legal). WHY THE HELL ARE WE DOING THIS????

@kronix"Has anybody actually died from smoking too much pot?"To answer: No. No they haven't. Not one person, in all of recorded medical history. Playdoh is more toxic.

If you don't like it then by all means you are more than free to leave. I bet you would fit in nicely over at LGF.

@mutatron - "Frankly, I agree that the whole medicinal pot thing is little more than a ruse by some to get marijuana legalized."So, in your opinion, all the following organizations that approve of medical marijuana are really just a bunch of hippies that are trying to get pot legalized for recreational use?:The Institute of MedicineThe American Academy of Family PhysiciansAmerican Bar AssociationAmerican Public Health AssociationAmerican Society of Addiction MedicineAIDS Action CouncilBritish Medical AssociationCalifornia Academy of Family PhysiciansCalifornia Legislative Council for Older AmericansCalifornia Medical AssociationCalifornia Nurses AssociationCalifornia Pharmacists AssociationCalifornia Society of Addiction MedicineCalifornia-Pacific Annual Conference of the United Methodist ChurchColorado Nurses AssociationConsumer Reports MagazineKaiser PermanenteLymphoma Foundation of AmericaMultiple Sclerosis California Action NetworkNational Association of Attorneys GeneralNational Association of People with AIDSNational Nurses Society on AddictionsNew Mexico Nurses AssociationNew York State Nurses AssociationNew England Journal of MedicineVirginia Nurses AssociationSome how, I have a hard time believing that.

"I personally think God intended that to mean we should avoid addictions and altered judgment. Both tend to lead to bad decisions (sometimes even to capital-S Sin)."Marijuana doesn't alter your judgment. It merely enhances your senses.

@ mike17032Hey asshat. If you live in a democracy, then you better hope that the majority of people make good decisions because they elect the people that make the laws. If you have no faith in the intelligence of the majority, then you have no faith in the system. Why not just move to China where the government knows better than all the people and can lock you up for 10 years for disagreeing with them in a public forum.

"Marijuana doesn't alter your judgment. It merely enhances your senses."I never said it did. That's kind of the point of my post.
