johnmamus.com— Tropicana recently came out with a new design for its cartons of orange juice, and the results are less than impressive.

Actually, that's why "store brands" exist. They're there to anchor a price point for the name brands. So if you've got store brand OJ for $4.99, and Tropicana for $5.79 you say "oh, the name brand is only a little bit more," and spring for the Tropicana. Without store brands, you'd be forced into making the uncomfortable decision of "is this really worth what they're asking?" for nearly everything in the store.
I was thinking the other day at the grocery store how bad the carton looked. It almost made me not want to buy it. It looked like a generic or store brand. I thought it was very odd that tropicana changed the design to that. I still bought it but it took me a minute to make sure it was really tropicana. Someone did a terrible job on that design.
I hate it , first thought - generic, second thought-ugly . I have been buying Tropicana for years I buy several different varieties to please my families tastes and I couldn't easily see the difference in varieties( with the exception of the grapefruit because it was a different color juice) so, now I'm buying Flordia's Natural Tropicana you lost me.
Hi "stallionism" - John Mamus here. Thanks for reading my blog and commenting on it here. The truth is, my mother died about a year ago. She was in hospital for about a year before she died. It sucked seeing her die. I do not live in her basement. I have a lovely home outside of New York City.If you ever come to NYC - look me up.Best wishes, John Mamus : design everything

The several cartons I've bought since the re-design have not had the orange-shaped cap.

I don't mind the box but it kinda made it seem like the generic orange juice box. I got confused a little when i went to buy some orange juice...
