nin.com — "I left the conversation thinking I'd cleared up the misconception that I thought the entire release of "niggytardust" was a failure. Well, it appears the story was written before I was involved, and I woke up the next day to find out I'm a supporter of an ISP tax. Thanks, CNET."

True, but they would be lying.

That was my point.

This is exactly the issue here, but all the flamers here won't let that come to be because they are f**king shortsighted to the point of retardation. Trent never accused of 'misquoting', basically he's upset (as he should be) that a very minor comment he made which sounded more like an afterthought or what have you was blown COMPLETELY out of proportion due to the fact that it was a headline. I will be very cautious in reading anything from CNET anymore.

Are you reading anything? Or did you just see the word "TAX" and your 'Libertarian Man' alarm went off?

Listen to the audio all he said was IF there were an ISP tax then in his mind all music is now able to be downloaded, and put in your car, your iPod....Im paraphrasing obviously. He wasn't misquoted, he was misunderstood. He did not say he supports or opposes the tax, he just stated how it SHOULD work if it were to happen. Trent Reznor is not a genius, nor is he a blithering idiot, he is just a man who speaks his mind and stands up for what he believes. We are lacking too many people like that these days.
