theonion.com— Long time fans of the Star Trek franchise say JJ Abrams' enjoyable, engaging prequel betrays what Star Trek is all about.

So, based on this, I had to go to a Trekkie forum. Here's a random post:________________________________________Did JJ get it RIGHT? (Silver and not gold on uniforms)From the pictures and videos I've seen, it' looks like the rank stripes and badges are SILVER and not gold, like on TOS.Okay. Altered timeline. Fine. Different choices.I was watching THE CAGE again this afternoon, and realized something...It looks like on the Pike era uniforms, the rank stripes were SILVER, at least on the jackets.Once I saw that, it made me wonder just how dismissive these guys were of existing Trek history, and how much of it they really drew on in revising the universe. (They may have been "loyal" to a far greater extent than a lot of us realize.)Can anyone confirm for me what I saw (someone who's seen THE CAGE in high def, maybe), that the stipes ARE silver, at least on the jackets? (Feel free to mention the stripe and badge color on the regular shirts too.)______________________________________________________Like he said....feel free to mention the stripe and badge color. Awesome.
This kinda throws that whole "odd numbered bad even numbered good" theory completely outta whack doesn't it? The Motion Picture: 80% (that's being kind) Wrath of Khan: 90% (win!) Search For Spock: 76% (that's being kind)Voyage Home: 84% (show!)Final Frontier: 21% (that's being very kind) Undiscovered Country: 82% (place!) Generations: 49% (it's a fair cop) First Contact: 91% (it was okay but it wasn't THAT good) Insurrection: 55% (Data as flotation device: fail) Nemesis: 38% (the fact this script got greenlit means there is a satan and he lives among us) HAH! The new horrendous excuse for a ST film just dropped to 94% at 65 reviews! How the mighty hath fallen! Or maybe there's hope for it yet, depending on how you're looking at things.

Star Trek - 96% positive with 226 reviewsWolverine - 37% positive with 218 reviewsI'd say that's pretty clear cut.
