You can joke about anything, no matter how serious. 'Rape can be funny' (George Carlin). Comments like: 'As an Australian, I find this offensive' s**t me to f**king tears. 'As an Australian', you're *supposed* to have an ironic sense of humour. I've worked all over Australia with blokes like these 2 all my life and you know what - they'd be the first to piss themselves laughing at some of these track suggestions. Everyone already knows it's a serious situation, but that's no reason not to joke about it. Keep up the comedy, it doesn't hurt anyone except people who choose to be offended, and that's their f**king problem.I'd go with:Claustrophobia by The Bee Gees
I'm not sure maybe a string quartet or maybe recordings of their families. That might comfort me in darkness.I can think of two songs that I wouldn't put on it:The Mountain- Steve EarleDark as a Dungeon- Jonny Cash or Merle Travis
@duczduczduczOkay I see your point but that alone isn't really a joke. I mean we all know he's sitting on top of a gold mine but it has no relevance to this article. Perhaps a better way of saying it would be "And yet another gold mine Steve Jobs has perched upon"It's funny how amongst all this dreadful news we are discussing the proper formatting for a joke... I love the intarweb
Notice that no one is laughing about the dead guy. Humour is part of any good coping mechanism, and doesn't need to trivialise the subject being laughed at. Personally, I find the inability to find humour in serious situationsm, and in your own actions and reactions, a little worrying... more than a little. It comes with hubris.
