consumerist.com— Got a trampy little kid that isn't quite ready to get inked? No problem. Toys "R" Us has lower-back tattoo stickers for little miss thing.

Oh it's just for fun. What's the difference where you put a temporary tattoo? Would it be better if it were a left butt cheek tattoo instead of a lower back tattoo?
No kidding. No one ever notices that the rise of shoot-'em-up video games actually corresponds to a huge DECREASE in violent crime. DOOM came out in 1991, I think, and there are now thousands of killing games for PC. But violent crime in the U.S. decreased 93% between 1990 and 2000 (nope, it's not a typo. I read that in The Economist!). So, maybe...violent gaming prevents crime!I read the synopsis of an anthropology postdoc thesis, where these guys had demonstrated that cultures in which cussing is socially accepted actually have far less physical violence between adults. Cultures in which cussing is considered shameful and trashy tend to have a lot of bullying and physical violence, on the other hand, because profanity acts as a safety valve preventing violence. Case in point: In Japan, cursing is considered profoundly shameful, but it's acceptable for an employer to grab one of his workers by the collar and shake him as a dog shakes a rat. Or here in the U.S., you can see it: New Englanders and New Yorkers curse freely, even white-collar professionals don't bat an eye at the occasional burst of profanity...and the Northeast has incredibly low crime rates. In the Spanish Southwest and the Deep South, cussing is considered socially unacceptable, but it's considered more or less normal for middle-aged men to get into fistfights with strangers over nothing. We all just need to cool it, I think. Nobody minds their own business in this country, anymore.
That's true. Gratuitous labeling helps stupid people to sleep-walk through life. With all the work done for them, no one has to bother with *thinking*, they can spend their precious little time reacting.
this is counter-productive. if girls go out and get busy with guys....they won't be buying any more toys. i guess they're trying to make more babies, faster??
