anythingbutipod.com— I disassembled the Gigabeat S series for two reasons: to see if the battery is easily replaceable and to see what kind of processor is inside.

I'm glad to know the battery is easily replaceable. I'd rather do it myself than send it to Toshiba at an extra cost. I don't think it would be too difficult to replace the hard drive either. I'd be willing to try that if Toshiba releases a 100GB or 200GB with this form-factor.

This is one of the few places you can find a replacement battery.<a class="user" href="http://www.ipods99.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=ToshMES30VWSL">http://www.ipods99.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=ToshMES30VWSL</a>

The battery replacement was fairly easy and was successful in making my gigabeat function again.
