zeropaid.com — Torrent Raiders is to be an "...arcade-style video game and a dynamic network visualization." It will take place in real-time, driven bythe activity of peers in a given BitTorrent Swarm. Players are to take on the role a "...government agent tasked with surveilling the ad-hoc networks generated by torrents linked to copyrighted material."

Sounds like a cool game, cant wait to "protect the torrent swarms"

Er, I'm wondering if this isn't just a sneaky way for someone to turn pirate torrent detection into a computer game. Could they compile the data generated by the top-scoring players and send that to the FBI?I mean okay, that itself would be a pretty cool idea, but it wouldn't exactly have zero evil content, would it?

I don't know about evil content or the FBI, but I do know that the RIAA/MPAA do not need a game to track bittorrent copyright pirates. You connect to a tracker, and everyone on it knows your IP. Period.

yep....thats right, so benefit will be in patrolling those IP adresses with the "Torrent Raider" ship using perhaps a "safepeer" blocklist or something along those lines to "zap" from coneecting to the torrent swarm as a whole

yeah with a safepeer list or something like that perhaps players could flag the authorities or prevent them from connecting.
