An awesome collection. I hadn't ever seen the dark matter one before -- as a physicist I know what it's all about, but that's the first time I actually *saw* the stuff! You can look at the numbers all you want, but there's something about a picture that really drives it home.I work at JPL where my jobs have included the Cassini Lead Mission Engineer, and the MER Spirit Mission Manager, and so I especially appreciate seeing our handiwork in the top ten, albeit indirectly for MER. Again, no matter how many times I sent commands and got pictures back from the rovers, there's nothing like actually seeing the little buggers on the surface from orbit.Lastly, I hadn't seen the shadows of the space station and shuttle on the Sun before either. What an incredible and stunning catch.A big thumbs up.
An amazing collection of colorful astronomical images which reveal even more amazing discovery. Demonstrable, visual evidence for liquid water on Mars - an automatic classic! Yet the nearly true color image of Saturn (#1 on the list) surpasses this as it is so breath-taking.

The shot of Saturn is stunning. I'd love to have it as my background.
